About Holy Mass in Olomouc
Welcome to Olomouc, a beautiful historic city in the Czech Republic. As a local Catholic Church, we are happy to offer Holy Mass in English for tourists and foreign language students. Our services are open to all, regardless of religious affiliation.

Unusual time
Holy Mass in English is celebrated on Sundays at 12:21 p.m. at the Capuchin church of the Annunciation at the corner of Dolní náměstí. The unusual time is inspired by the verse of the Gospel of John 12.21: "... we would like to see Jesus."

Sunday Readings
Our Sunday readings follow the liturgical texts from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Click on the logo to access the official website, where you can explore readings in English or Spanish, along with audio versions for convenience.

Order of Mass
For foreigners whose mother tongue is not English, Mass Guides are prepared. They are located at the back of the church. If you prefer the online form click on the picture.

Be Part of Our Choir
If you love to sing and wish to contribute to our liturgical celebrations, we warmly welcome you to join our choir. Feel free to speak with Father Ján after Mass or contact him via email at your convenience.
Prayer cards
Our business cards are also prayer cards. It is because they contain a passage from the Bible John 12:21 „… we would like to see Jesus“.
You can find them in printed form on the table at the entrance of the church.
Among Jesus‘ twelve disciples, there were only two who bore a Greek name. They were Philip and Andrew. The name Philip means „friend of the horse“ and the name Andrew means „manly, i.e. brave, courageous“. Both Philip and Andrew came from the city of Bethsaida (cf. John 1:44; 12:21), from the border region of Galilee, which was adjacent to pagan territory. Philip and Andrew were among the first disciples of Jesus. They once came to Jesus with a desire to know him. After they had this experience with Jesus, they also became the first to bring other disciples to Jesus. The Greeks, these „God-fearers“, turn to Philip with a request: „Lord, we would like to see Jesus.“ So he is asked to mediate the relationship. Philip communicates this request to Andrew. They then go to Jesus together.
